Current Guidelines

At Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc, the health and safety of our girls, volunteers, and staff are our first priority. We will continue to revise our guidelines based on the best available information. Please also continue to follow current local, state, and CDC guidelines for your location.

Update October 3, 2022:

GSHH COVID-19 Guidelines* for the 2022-2023 Membership Year

Wearing a mask is optional. Those who feel more comfortable wearing masks should continue to do so. GSHH remains a mask-friendly environment; please continue to be a sister to every Girl Scout and be respectful of others' personal decisions.
Those who are immunocompromised, part of a compromised household, or in other high-risk categories should wear a mask.
People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should not participate in Girl Scout activities until feeling better.
Do not participate in activities if you are not feeling well.
We will no longer require the collection of the Pre-Screening form for troop meetings and activities or the COVID-19 liability waiver.
Girl Scout members should adhere to any mask requirements of any program partners and meeting locations.
The health and safety of our membership remain our primary concern. Members should continue to follow the COVID-19 guidelines provided at the county and state levels, as well as those by the CDC.

Update March 1, 2022:

To All Our Members, Parents/Caregivers and Volunteers,

As we continue to navigate our way through this public health crisis, we first want to thank you all for the support and cooperation you have shown us as we strive to do what is best for our girls.

Due to the current updates in NYS guidance, GSHH is implementing updates to its volunteer COVID-19 guidelines. The main changes to the GSHH COVID-19 Guidelines are:

• Masks are not required for indoor activities but any girl or adult member who prefers to wear a mask can do so when attending meetings and activities.

• The COVID liability waiver should be filled out once a year when a Girl Scout renews membership or as new Girl Scouts register and join a troop.

• We will no longer require the collection of the Prescreening form for troop meetings and activities.

Please be reminded that participation in Girl Scout activities is voluntary.

UPDATE: September 27, 2021 - GSHH COVID-19 Volunteer Guidelines

Updated Guidance on Mask Wearing - August 31, 2021

MASKS (Indoor) - Masks must be worn indoors by everyone: adults and children regardless of vaccination status. When possible, please refrain from serving food at troop meetings. If food must be served, please do so outdoors with proper social distancing.

MASKS (Outdoor) - Masks must be worn outdoors in situations where proper social distancing cannot be achieved. The meeting leader or facilitator is authorized to determine when girls and adults should wear masks during outdoor activities. Additionally, if a girl or adult volunteer feels more comfortable in a mask, that decision should be respected and supported.

This questionnaire must be filled out on the day of the in-person meeting prior to arrival and submitted to the troop leader using the email field on the form. Please review at least one day before your next in-person meeting to make sure you have all of the necessary information.

We urge you to stay up to date with NYS and CDC guidelines. However, when engaging in a GSHH activity you must follow all regulations, which may go above and beyond state or federal recommendations.
