Dr. Rockwell will succeed Interim CEO Helen Wronski as the CEO of Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson.
MONTGOMERY, NY (August 20, 2024)— Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc. announced Kari Rockwell will become the CEO of Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson (GSHH) effective October 1, 2024. Her appointment follows an extensive search conducted by GSHH’s CEO Search Committee to identify a permanent CEO in place of longtime Interim CEO, Helen Wronski, who joined the council in May 2022.
GSHH Board President, Gale Hauck, said, “The Board is grateful to the CEO Search Committee and our search firm’s hard work in conducting this nation-wide search for the council’s new CEO. We are excited for Kari Rockwell to join the council and to continue the important work of Girl Scouting and building girls of Courage, Confidence, and Character who will make the world a better place.”
Dr. Rockwell is currently CEO of Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois where she elevated a culture of Belonging and led the council through critical moments to best support and lead its members into the future. Before her work with Girl Scouts, she spent two-decades working in non-profit leadership, community engagement, and K-12 education. Notably, as a school district superintendent, she led a $35M building improvement project, and secured over $5M in grant funding.
“I am thrilled to join GSHH and look forward to meeting my new Girl Scout Community,” said Kari. In addition to her professional background, she brings her skills as a transparent communicator, empathetic listener, and her open door policy to GSHH and hopes to create new connections with all current and future Girl Scouts.
Interim CEO Helen Wronski, said “Over the past two years, we’ve worked together to put the council on the path to success and I know that Kari will continue and expand on this work. I leave you knowing that you all will continue the work of making GSHHSTRONG!”
