West Lakeland Service Unit Juliette Gordon Low Fair
On Saturday, March 22, 2025 the West Lakeland Service Unit hosted its 64th Annual Juliette Gordon Low fair. Dozens of Daisies, Brownies and Juniors earned badges for World Thinking Day an d Global Take Action, and fun patch for “I am in MY GS Era.” There were approximately six Global Action or Gold Award projects there too.
Girls in Aviation Day
On Saturday, March 15, 2025 more than 45 Girl Scouts from multiple service units attended Girls in Aviation Day at the Westchester County Airport. Town of Eastchester Service Unit Manager Michele Brish organized this event and worked with the Ninety-Nines, and international organization of female pilots. The Girl Scouts learned what it takes to get aircraft safely in the air, what the preflight checklists entail, and how to interpret weather and other important data. They also heard from air traffic controller how they communicate with the cockpit to make sure places have safe takeoffs and landings.
Women's Career Day
On Saturday, March 15, 2025, the Dutchess Tri-Valley Service Unit hosted the Women's Career Day. Over 40 Girl Scouts along with their leaders, caregivers, and successful professional women. Girl Scouts had the opportunity to meet with an attorney, a publisher, a flight attendant, a philanthropist/non-profit leader, EMS team members, a chemist, a Girl Scout CEO, and more!
