The Jacob Burns Film Center is thrilled to collaborate with New York University (NYU) Tisch School of the Arts to bring an innovative film program to high school students in fall 2023. The JBFC Emerging Screenwriter Fellowship will be a six-week course for high school students consisting of thirteen engaging sessions on the JBFC Campus in Pleasantville.
This program is open to all rising 10th and 11th-grade high school students for fall 2023, and there is no minimum GPA requirement to participate. We understand that creativity must be supported, so all fellowships will be provided free of charge to participants, and fellows will also receive a sizable stipend to offset transportation and other costs.
The 2023 program consists of thirteen engaging sessions on the JBFC Campus from October 2–November 15 (Mondays and Wednesdays) from 5:30 PM–8:00 PM. The final class and table read will take place on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 4:00 PM–9:00 PM. Students must commit to attending all class sessions in order to participate.
