On Monday, August 25, 2025, GSHH visited Sparrow's Nest in Hopewell Junction to deliver a donation of Girl Scout Cookies. Sparrow's Nest is a nonprofit whose mission is to cook and deliver homemade meals to individuals and families facing a cancer diagnosis in Dutchess, Putnam, and parts of Orange and Ulster counties.
As part of GSHH's Clear Out the Cupboard campaign, GSHH delivered 200 cases of Girl Scout Cookies to Sparrow's Nest to be donated to the families that the charity serves. Sparrow's Nest founder, Krista Jones, was on hand to accept the donation from GSHH CEO, Dr. Kari Rockwell, along with members of the New Oaks Service Unit, including Service Unit Manager Laura Kelly, Karen Ziermann, and Girl Scouts Jennifer and Emma.
After the cookies were loaded into the facility, GSHH had the opportunity to view Sparrow's Nest's facility and prepared 100 bags with varied packages of Girl Scout Cookies to be given to families.
