Did you know that in the past 10 years, growth in STEM jobs has been three times greater than non-STEM Jobs? Or that 80% of the fastest growing occupations in the United States depend upon mastery of mathematics and scientific knowledge and skills?
In order to ensure our Girl Scouts have the skills they need to succeed, as well as the Mentors and networking to help them enter the field of their choice, we are happy to announce our continued partnership with PepsiCo and the Million Women Mentors Program.
This program will connect Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts with STEM professionals in fields such as Research & Development, Information Technology, Engineering, Purchasing, and Finance.
If you are interested in (or considering) going to college to earn a degree in a STEM field such as Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, we encourage you to apply for one of these slots.
As part of the program, we are having an Initial Kickoff Event Virtually February 28th, for all of the Mentors and Mentees to meet, learn more about the Million Women Mentors Program, and begin networking. Additionally, there will also be a mandatory Mid-Point Event check-in on June 7th. We recommend that each student should plan 15 hours to work with their Mentor over the course of 10 months. The Mentee and Mentor can decide together specific times and frequency.
