Girl Advisory Team Position Information & Application Sheet
The Girl Advisory Team represents the voices of girls from throughout Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc. (GSHH). Team members have the opportunity to collaborate with GSHH staff to work on key projects and initiatives to provide recommendations on Girl Experience activities and events.
Members of the Girl Advisory Team will gain experience through creating change and developing professional and leadership skills.
Qualifications
Girl Scouts entering grades 9 through 12 in fall 2024.
Must be a registered Girl Scout member for the 2024-2025 membership year at the time of application.
Genuine interest in taking on a Girl Scout leadership role on the Council level.
Ability to communicate with peers and with adults.
Ability to work well independently and on a team.
Committed to using technology as a platform for research and communication.
Girl Scouts are only eligible to participate on the Girl Advisory Team for two one-year terms (may be consecutive or non-consecutive).
Commitments & Responsibilities
Must attend a minimum of 6 monthly meetings during a one-year term.
Must be available for an additional 3 to 5 hours per month to participate in research outside of team meetings, plan events, and work on other activities as assigned.
Must attend 2 in-person Girl Advisory Team-led events: Girls L.E.A.D. (formerly Teen Leadership Conference, date TBD), Welcome to Cadettes (Sunday, May 18, 2025).
Actively participate in meetings with other Girl Advisory Team members and GSHH staff partners.
Ability to work in groups and independently to complete and present research and tasks.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
