Girl Scouts will explore what STEM is and how it connects to the
things they love today and the careers they can dream about tomorrow!
Dive into the world of DNA - the molecule inside the cells of all
living things-through hands-on discovery and forensic fun at
the Regeneron DNA Learning Center! Build STEM skills by extracting
real DNA from wheat germ, learn how it becomes visible without the use
of a microscope, and transform it into a keepsake necklace. Then, step
into the role of a scientist to solve a real historical mystery from
the early 1900s by collecting and interpreting forensic evidence. Get
ready to experiment like a scientist, investigate like a detective,
and uncover the secrets hidden in cells! Participants will also hear
from DNALC Educators about different STEM career possibilities, and
get a behind-the-scenes look at what real scientist workdays can be
like.
