Join us for a two-hour introduction to the practice of Nature Journaling at the Catskill Visitor's Center! Armed with a small journal and a set of art supplies including watercolor pencils, participants will be led through the beautiful trails, gardens and fields of the Catskill Visitors Center, gateway to the Catskills. Participants will record their observations in a relaxed and engaging workshop. Class will include basic instructions in a few sketching techniques and use of watercolor pencils, but no artistic skills are required, just an interest in deepening focus, observation and creativity!
Girl Scouts who attend this program will be able to take home their Nature Journal and will be invited to challenge themselves by climbing a full-size authentic Fire Tower to experience viewing the Catskills from a birds-eye view! All ages will receive their Outdoor Art Badge, and Daisies through Juniors will also earn their Art and Design badge. This is just the beginning of potential badge opportunities for this program! This is not a drop-off program.
