Problem-solver. Innovator. Engineer. In this fast-paced, hands-on program, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts will take on the world of engineering-Girl Scout style! As we dive into the Think Like an Engineer Journey, we will learn how engineers tackle real-world problems with creativity, collaboration, and curiosity.
In this immersive experience, you will: Discover the Engineering Design Process (EDP) and how it's used to solve everyday challenges; Connect through teamwork as you prototype and test your own creative solutions; and Take Action by starting a sustainable, community-focused project you can lead after the program.
From skyscrapers to wind systems to adaptable devices, you will test their critical thinking and leadership skills while building something bigger than just a project-you'll build confidence and impact. Please bring a bagged lunch and a refillable water bottle. All participants will earn and go home with the Think Like an Engineer Journey and Take Action set. To finish the last steps of the Take Action, additional steps will need to be completed after the program, either as an individual, or as part of a group. This can be used as a prerequisite for earning the Gold Award!
