This is a virtual skills session for First Aid/CPR certification. Successful completion of this course certifies or recertifies you in Medic PediatricPlus Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED. Certification from this course is good for two years.

This course prepares you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies.  This course requires you to get up and down from a kneeling position and deliver high quality chest compressions and rescue breaths. A laptop, tablet, or smart phone with internet and webcam capabilities will be required to complete this course.

If you do not complete the steps as listed below, additional fees will apply and you will have to register for a new course.  Contact sbooker@girlscoutshh.org if you have questions.

Two weeks before your training session, you will receive an email with detailed instructions from Shaundra Booker. Then you will receive an email from the Health & Safety Institute (HSI). The HSI email will include a link for you to enter your shipping information to receive your needed course supplies in the mail.

This course has two parts, a Knowledge portion and a Skills session. The Knowledge portion is an online class that must be completed prior to the date of this course.  The HSI email will include a link to complete the Knowledge portion, which will take approximately 3 hours and may be paused and resumed. You must complete the Knowledge portion with a passing score prior to the start of the Skills session.

The Skills session takes place at the date and time listed for this event registration. The Skills session will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. During this session you will connect via video conference with a trained instructor who will view your performance of the skills learned in the Knowledge portion. You will need to have a webcam that shows your entire body as you perform chest compressions, rescue breaths, and other skills. You will use the supplies received from HSI to complete the Skills session.

After you have successfully completed the Knowledge portion and Skills session, you will repack the supplies provided by HSI and drop them off at a FedEx location. You will receive a digital certification card.
