Join us for this 6-week book club for Maven Takes the Lead,
the first book in a middle-grade series from Girl Scouts of the
USA about a group of fifth-graders with lots of courage, confidence,
and character, who make the world a better place. Each week,
participants will discuss the book and enjoy a craft or activity, or
meet a special guest!

Wednesday, October 15 - Week 1: Introduction
We'll
learn to read for a book club and make bookmarks.
Wednesday, October 22 - Week 2: Rising Action
We'll
meet Maven, learn about main characters, types of conflict, and have
our own main character moment!
Wednesday, October 29 - Week 3: Climax
We'll learn
about robotics and Maven's competition.
Wednesday, November 5 - Week 4: Falling Action
We'll
discuss Maven's growth, our guesses for the end, and learn how to
write a book review.
Wednesday, November 12 - Week 5: Resolution
We'll
hear from an author and learn what it would mean to tell our own
stories.
Participating Girl Scouts will receive the Maven Takes the
Lead book and fun patch, as well as the Junior Scribe badge.
