There has been a Girl Scout House in Scarsdale for over 80 years. In 1979, after a fire destroyed the original house, Betty Taubert led efforts to rebuild the house. Upon her death, the house was named in her memory.
The Village of Scarsdale and Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Council (GSHH) share equally in stewardship of the house. The Village of Scarsdale has received a NYS grant that, along with matching contributions of $60,000 each from both the Village and GSHH, will provide funding for long awaited repairs and updates to Betty’s House.
Help us meet our goal. With your help, Betty’s House will continue to be the place that empowers girls, supports their future success and welcomes generations of Girls Scouts to come.
