Girl Scouts & Seniors Craft Pillows for Hospital Patients
[ Back to News ]
September 14, 2012
A group of Girl Scouts, mainly from Hyde Park, and seniors citizens at Concord Village stuffed and sewed 236 pillows for Saint Francis Hospital in the spring.
The pillows are for patients who undergo abdominal or cardiac surgery to hug to their stitches when they cough to avoid tearing.

** Since the pillows have been delivered, we received this note from an appreciative patient:
I was recently a patient at St. Francis hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY and I received a purple zebra pillow with a small label on it stating that it was
" Made with love by Residents of Castle Court and
girl scout troops 15, 141, and 215."
I absolutely adore this pillow and I wanted to thank the young ladies and the senior citizens for this small act of kindness. This pillow made me feel comfortable after my surgery and I have been carrying it with me all around the house! Not only is purple my favorite color, but the fact that it was made with heart and thought makes me love it more. Once again, I just want to say thank you.
Keep up the good work girls!! Thank you
