Volunteer Roles - Which one is right for you?

Troop Leader or Co-Leader toggle arrow

Work with a group of girls and mentor them as they make new friends and develop connections that will last a lifetime.

Troop Cookie Chair toggle arrow

Coordinate the annual cookie sale at the troop level. Set up cookie booths, manage inventory and money, and then watch the girls light up when they earn the rewards for being the best cookie sellers ever!

Troop Support Volunteers toggle arrow

Assist with driving, activity planning, snacks, money management, or other tasks necessary to keep the troop running from week to week.

Roles Include:

Troop Treasurer - Manages finances and prepares annual troop finance report
Troop Nuts + Mags (Fall Product) Chair - Supports and coordinates the troop's Fall Product Program, October through December.
Troop Cookie Chair - Supports and coordinates the troop's Girl Scout Cookie Program, February through May.
Troop Annual Giving Chair - Asks for support from troop families for GSHH's Annual Giving Campaign, once a year.
Driver - 21+ years old, maintains license, registration, insurance, and inspection. Follows all Girl Scout transportation policies during approved Girl Scout trips.

**All of the above troop team members must complete a background check.

Service Unit Volunteers toggle arrow

Support and mentor adult volunteers as they work with Girl Scouts to develop leadership and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Roles Include:

Service Unit Manager - Partners with GSHH to organize, recruit, train, and support the Service Unit Team and troops.
Service Unit Treasurer - Manages finances of Service Unit and submits annual report.
Service Unit Nuts & Mags (Fall Product) Chair - Facilities training and distribution of materials to troops for Nuts & Mags Fall Product Program.
Service Unit Cookie Chair - Facilitates training and distribution of materials and troops, and coordinates order and delivery of cookies.
Service Unit Annual Giving Chair - Provides training and materials to troops for Annual Giving.
Service Unit Recruiter - Assists in the recruitment of members, assigns girls to troop, and keeps records of waiting lists.
Service Unit Delegate/Alternate - Provides input from operational volunteers to the GSHH Board of Directors.
Service Unit Adult Recognition Chair - Coordinates education of recognition programs and collects nominations of adult awards.

There are so many ways you can volunteer.

Volunteers can help with events and other activities. Volunteers may help with one event a year, a monthly activity, or at other times when extra help is needed.

You’ll find the Volunteer Toolkit via the left menu bar of MyGS in My Account. It’s accessible on any desktop, tablet, or mobile device.

gsLearn

gsLearn is full of essential volunteer trainings and courses, like how to lead activities the Girl Scout way, safety procedures, and advice for guiding Girl Scouts at every grade level.

You’ll find gsLearn via the left menu bar of MyGS in My Account. It’s accessible on any desktop, tablet, or mobile device, and it will be populated with any trainings you should view.
