This course prepares you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies. At the end of this course, Girl Scouts will earn the First Aid Badge and certify them in the Health & Safety Institute's First Aid, CPR, and AED for children and infants. Certification from this course is good for two years.
This is a Blended Learning course. That means there is an online knowledge portion of the course that must be completed prior to this in-person skills session. Two weeks before your course, you will receive an email with instructions and a link to complete the online class, which will take approximately 3 hours and may be paused and resumed. When you complete the online class with a passing score, you will receive a certificate of completion. You must bring this certificate with you to the in-person course.
*This course requires you to get up and down from a kneeling position and deliver high quality chest compressions and rescue breaths from a kneeling position.*
