Make a Difference, Be a Hero, Volunteer

Our Girl Scout volunteers have come to a special organization—one that changes the lives of girls across the nation and throughout the world. They contribute thousands of service hours each year. Volunteers are the heart of Girl Scouting. In fact, more than 99% of adults in Girl Scouting are volunteers. Girl Scouting could not exist without our volunteers.

Our adult volunteers serve girls by utilizing our convenient volunteer opportunities available through our council. Today's Girl Scout volunteerism may surprise you.

We offer several exciting, flexible pathways through which adults can participate in Girl Scouting regionally, nationally, and internationally. If you would like to become a Girl Scout volunteer but cannot commit to a regular schedule, you can choose a pathway that allows you to fit Girl Scouting into your lifestyle, whether it is once a month, weekends, evenings, or at a particular time of year.Whether you choose to work directly or indirectly with girls on a short-term or long-term basis, you can be assured that you will receive the instruction, guidance, and support that you will need to fulfill the responsibilities of your volunteer role successfully

The Value of Volunteering

Being a Girl Scout volunteer will give you a chance to meet new people, spend your time meaningfully, use your talents and skills, and learn new ones. The girls and the community will benefit as you help girls build self-esteem and decision-making skills. As a Girl Scout volunteer you have the wonderful opportunity to awaken in girls their personal leadership abilities and develop to their full potential. Girl Scouting also gives parents an opportunity to spend quality time with their daughters.
