Think Outside the Troop.

Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson has robotics teams, canoe teams, and a Girl Scout Chours – offering a new, specialized way to get involved with Girl Scouts.

Whether, this is your only commitment to Girl Scouts, or in addition to other pathways, we’d love to have you join our team(s).

Prior Girl Scout membership is not required.

Every girl likes to play! Our Techno Teams bring play to life through robotics. Meeting and practicing in our Pleasantville Office, these girls represent the council in various local, state, and regional competitions. With three age-levels to grow in, girls find new challenges each year.

  1. The Techno Chicklets – Grades K – 3
  2. The Techo Girls – Middle School
  3. The Techno Chix – High School Girls

Interested? Please email Michele at mdiamanti@girlscoutshh.org.

The Dotted Half Notes are a choir made up of Girl Scouts of all ages. This highly successful girls’ chorus is dedicated to brightening the world with the beauty of the human voice. What began as a Gold Award project, has since turned into a very successful singing group. The group has earned many accolades and awards at various singing competitions throughout the tri-state area.

The group practices once a month on Sunday afternoons from 3–5 p.m. at Rock Hill Camp in Mahopac.  They perform at a number of holiday celebrations, GSHH events, and nursing homes throughout the year.

For more information, contact Mary Peters at MaryPMusic@comcast.net.

The Kamikaze Kanoers are a Girl Scout canoe racing team that practices and competes annually in April and May.  They have represented area Girl Scouts in the Governor Clinton Canoe Regatta for over 25 years. They are comprised of 7th through 12th grade girls who want to learn the fundamentals of canoeing and look forward to competing on the water.

The season begins each year in March and concludes with a river race weekend in May. Participants will take the American Red Cross Canoe Certification class called Fundamentals of Canoeing (FOC). Practices are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4pm-6pm at Camp Addisone Boyce in Tomkins Cove (Rockland County).

For more information, contact Lois Gesner, team coach, at (845) 753-2151 or Chipmunk1039@aol.com, or Christine Palillo, team manager at CSHP34@aol.com.
