Sculpture Workshop on the Hudson

Forgotten Patriots: American Prisoners during the Revolutionary War

Description: At 2:00 pm, Edwin Burrows, Proffessor of History at Brooklyn College, chronicles the fascinating and chilling story of captured Patriot soldiers who were imprisoned on British ships in New York harbor during the Revolutionary War. Professor Burrows' presentation is based on his recent book, Forgotten Patriots. At 3:00 pm there is a tour of the historic church & bell tower, as well as the cemetery, one of the nation's oldest burial yards.

Description: Celebrate Grandparent's Day with Rockland County Trail Guide Docent MaryBeth Foisy, on this pleasant, moderately difficult, approximately 1 mile walk on a heavily wooded path with some rocky sections & mild gradients. Trail can be muddy after rain. Walkers should meet in the parking lot. Dogs are allowed, there are no restroom facilities & the walk is not stroller friendly. Participants should wear proper footwear, clothing & bring water, binoculars, walking stick & sunscreen.
