Girl Scout earns Gold Award for senior sewing project

New Oaks - Ambassador Girl Scout Nina Farrell, a member of Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson New Oaks Service Unit Troop 10188, received her Gold Award in March.

Having been a Girl Scout for 11 years, she was well aware of the many ways Girl Scouts provide “service to others.” Farrell’s Gold Award project was to “Keep a Senior Warm” by teaching Girl Scouts to sew. She obtained her own sewing machine and reached out to the community for donations of material, remnants and batting.
