Cadette Program Aide Leadership Experience; come start your year with something exciting and fun: As a Cadette, you’re growing into a whole new Girl Scout.  That’s an incredible adventure in itself- a world of new people to meet, exciting activities to choose, and choices to make that can change you and the world. Along the way, you’ll become even more of a leader and act as a trailblazer for others.  Why not start your new leadership experience with a little fun and adventure?  We have designed the program as a Camp Cabin Overnight so we will have lots of time to learn how to work with children, while gaining a deeper understanding of the outdoors and designing fun outdoor crafts and adventures you can assist with for younger Girl Scouts. The best is, as an overnight we will have extra time to have a little fun ourselves as we take a leisurely evening boating voyage, create nature crafts and enjoy cooking special treats over a campfire. So come alone, grab a friend or bring your whole troop and join us for a leadership adventure that will be fun every step of the way.
During our time together we will work on the Cadette Core Program Aide requirements. We will study child development, age characteristics, attention spans, motor skills and appropriate activities for younger Girl Scouts.  You will still need experience working directly with younger Girl Scouts to finish your Program Aide Award therefore as a GSHH Program Aide candidate you will automatically have the opportunity to work with Daisies and Brownies at the council level.  You will be able to volunteer for council events before any other volunteers are permitted to sign up. If you would rather finish your Program Aide requirements working with younger Girl Scouts in your community you are welcome to arrange that too.
Note: This program is for 7th and 8th grade Cadettes who have finished their Cadette L.I.A. award.  You must complete you Cadette LIA Award before completing your Program Aide Award. We suggest all 6th grade Cadettes work on earning their L.I.A. Award and then plan on participating in the Program Aide Overnight in 7th or 8th Grade.
