Cookie News: S'mores Shortage

Cookie Booth

As Girl Scouts, we know our Cookie Program is the largest girl-led business in the world and Girl Scouts learn 5 basic skills through their participation: Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills, and Business Ethics.

This year, the Girl Scout Cookie Season had a record breaking demand for S'mores.  As a result, our baker, Little Brownie Baker (LBB), cannot fulfill all of the orders for the S'mores cookies – which will give our Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl scouts an opportunity to demonstrate some of their stellar business skills!

The good news? Affected Girl Scouts will still receive the money owed to them for the number of S'mores boxes sold during Initial Order.

Additionally:

  • For orders placed in Digital Cookie for S'mores tagged for "girl delivery", every Girl Scout will receive the S'mores cookie to deliver to their customer. Bottom line: No impact to these customers' orders!
  •  For orders placed during initial order for S'mores (excluding Digital Cookie Orders), Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors will receive 2 replacement boxes (Thin Mints® and Samoas® ) for each box of S'mores sold.  One box is for the Girl Scout to give to their customer free of charge.  The other box is for them to keep - either as a personal treat, or to sell and keep the full $4 profit in the Troop Bank Account.
  • Girl Scouts who were affected were given a notecard to deliver to their customers along with the replacement box of cookies.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this causes.  And have been working with LBB to ensure Girl Scouts who are affected are compensated in the best way possible.
