Summer 2017 Tour: Costa Rica "Serving the Environment"

This 9 day tour will take us throughout Costa Rica where you will explore the tropical rainforests, visit a crocodile farm, take a canopy tour and kayaking excursion, and hike to La Fortuna Waterfall. Throughout the time there, participate in environmental immersion discovering solutions to stabilizing the ecosystems involved; assist with seed collection and cleaning protected mangrove areas. Participants will also spend a day with local school children, visit the National Institute of Biodiversity where you can get up close and personal with frogs, bees, tarantulas, and butterflies, and attend a folklore evening.

Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors are invited to earn a journey while they explore Germany and Switzerland, and take a look at sustainable and renewable energy. Girls will be introduced to the innovative spirit that kept Germany resilient during tough times and has allowed it to flourish today.
Begin in Munich, home to the world’s largest museum of technology and science. Learn about renewable energy, solar power, modern cultivation and ecology in Freiburg. Continue your discoveries in the Lucerne region, where cutting-edge technology finds itself against a backdrop of medieval history.
Basic Travel Info
7th grade - entering college
Who Can Go: Registered Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador Girl Scouts. Troops/Groups who register 3 or more girls may register an adult, but are not required to do so.
Chaperones: Trips will be overseen by Girl Scout Staff and Girl Scout Volunteers
Pre-Trip Planning: All trips will have information webinars as well as in-person planning and get-to-know-you days. Attendance is mandatory, and completion of all pre-trip paperwork is required.
Cost: Varies by trip and date of registration. $95 to EF Tours + $55-100 GSHH due at registration. Payment plans available. Girls can use cookie credits to cover costs.
Registration Deadline: Price will increase the longer you wait to register. All trips are on a first come, first serve basis. Final registration is 90 days prior to the selected trip, if spaces are still available.
Registration includes airfare, ground transportation, Comfortable hotel accommodations, breakfast and dinner daily, a full-time tour director and local guides, and the most extensive safety and security regulations in the industry.
