Let your imaginations run wild as we gain outdoor skills as we see what life was like for early settlers who headed west! Girl Scouts and settlers have one thing in common – they were ready for whatever lies ahead. Campers will cook over an open fire, make their own bread and butter, search for gold, and explore new territories. Dust off your boots and cowboy hat for the rootinest tootinest camp session this side of the Mississippi! Field trips may include visiting a horse barn or farm. The C.I.T. I program in for young women interested in making a positive impact on children and learning the skills it takes to be a good camp counselor. The four-week program focuses on child development, safety and first aid, creative camp programming, camp skills, and child supervision. The program will also emphasize the development of important life skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, cooperation, and management. In addition, you will spend time with unit staff and specialty staff where you can explore and sharpen your skills in: outdoor cooking, low ropes, leading songs, and games, arts & crafts, and hiking. The C.I.T. I program includes two overnights and all trips. Cost includes all trips and two overnights. Girls will work towards the C.I.T. I pin.

RBD Camp Aides 7/16-7/27/18 Age 14

Camp Aides is a great experience for girls who are ready to take on more responsibility at camp. While still participating in all the same activities and field trips as other campers, Camp Aides assist staff with daily tasks and special projects around camp. Work with specialists in areas like arts and crafts or nature! Help plan All Camp festivities! Design and complete a service project! The possibilities are endless. Must be minimum 14 years of age by 7/1/18.

Plus, it’s a great way to enjoy the last weeks of the summer with your newfound friends and extend your camp experience! C.I.T. IIs may participate in weekly overnights for an additional $25 fee. Girls will work towards C.I.T. II pin.

RBD Superheroes 7/30-8/10/18 Gr K-9

Discover your inner superhero during this action packed session. Create your own alter ego and work with your team to defeat the evil supervillain. Superheroes and Girl Scouts alike know that it’s important to stand up for what you believe in, take risks, and not be afraid of failure. Experience the power of doing good and meet real life heroes that live in your community. Fields trips may include the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, or the FDNY Fire Zone.
