Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Mission Moment
July 2010

Girl Scout Troop #60063, from the Kingston Girl Scout Community, pictured with Senator Larkin at the NYS Legislators Expo in Albany. They received the Ulster County Youth Bureau's Peer Leadership Award on Thursday, May 27th at the Haven Resort in Ellenville for being instrumental in providing the Methodist Church with food donations for their newly opened Food Pantry.  The Girl Scout Troop held a food drive where they put out over 700 bags labeled with a flyer that described the project, on doors and collected food donations the following week.  The food was counted and presented to the Pastor of the Methodist Church.

Annual Giving - In Vest in Girl Scouting

The Annual Giving Campaign is designed to inspire those who believe in the mission of helping girls connect with their future, their dreams and to their world. By directly asking those who have personal experiences and appreciation of the success of the Girl Scouting; Girl’s Families, Alumnae and Local Communities, including Local Business, we hope to encourage each to give what they can to support the mission. All of the money collected from Annual Giving goes to council to support and enhance the Girl Scout experience of our girls. Learn more about this campaign by visiting our Annual Gving page.

Family Campaign is a contribution by families of girl members to the Girl Scouts. It is an investment in development of new opportunities and activities for each girl on a local level. Through Annual Giving families can contribute to the successful future of that special girl in their lives. Your involvement is important. We understand you may have questions and have created a resource of frequently asked questions and information about our council. Complete the individual donation form today or donate online!

Girl Sponsorship
You can make a significant difference in the life of a girl by becoming a Girl Scout sponsor. Consider a gift of $250.00 or more to sponsor a girl that cannot afford her books, pins and uniform. Help a girl develop character, self-esteem, decision-making skills and a commitment to service.

Camperships
Some girls would never go to camp without financial support. It is an adventure that is the single most remembered experience of our alumnae. A gift of $250 will make camp possible for a girl – providing a life long memory of the adventure, fun, friendship and learning in an outdoor setting.

Corporate Funding
Good corporate citizenship benefits the community as well as the company. Many corporations have set aside funds for community support. Whether is a matching gift, sponsorship of a project, employee volunteer recognition or a corporate donation, it all makes a difference. Click here for information on sponsorships or upcoming events.

Grants and Foundations
Grants provide funding to support special programs and develop new learning initiatives. Science, engineering and math programs, sports, health and fitness program and money management and investment programs were all new efforts funded by grants in the past year. Contact us if you have an opportunity to discuss..

In-Kind Contributions
Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson seeks contributions of goods or services that can benefit the Council or the girls we serve. Receiving donations of goods or services may provide budget relief that can free up already assigned funding which may then be used to provide program for more girls! Contact us to learn how to help.

Planned Giving
Planned gifts are those made through a definite plan for future giving. They may be gifts of life insurance, bequests in your will or trusts where the Council is the beneficiary of the gift. Contact us if interested in learning more.

United Way and Community Funds
United Way and Community Funds provide funding across the entire geographic area we serve. Funds from United Way help keep the cost of Girl Scout program affordable to all.
