Low Ropes Challenge Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors & Ambassadors
Description: Is your troop up to the challenge? This 75-minute workshop will consist of a series of real and imaginary obstacles designed to pool your troop’s resources as they work together. Even though the low-ropes elements are close to the ground, the troop will need to combine their physical strength, stamina, agility, balance and flexibility. Only when all the members of the troop team up and contribute to the outcome will the challenge be met. Each person’s physical ability is not an issue. This is a team initiative; no one can be singled out. Don’t miss the fun and excitement! Cost: $55.00 per troop Please Note: At least six girls per troop are required to participate in this program. Camping 101 Girl Scout Juniors
Date: 6/5/2010-6/6/2010, 8:00a - 10:00a Location: Camp Ludington (Dutchess) Description: Do your Girl Scout Juniors want to go camping outdoors but you don't have the training or you hesitate to do it on your own? Then this weekend is for you. We do all the planning and make camping easy. This program is for Girl Scout Junior troops that have not previously camped outdoors. Girls will rotate through basic camping skills workshops while their leaders receive Overnight Outdoor training. Girls and leaders reunite to cook Saturday dinner in their camping units with support staff on the grounds. Girls bring bag lunches and a snack for the day. Troops bring food for Saturday dinner (we decide the menu). We provide a continental breakfast on Sunday. One month prior to the event, we will mail equipment and food lists to you. Horsing Around Camporee Girl Scout Juniors
Date: 6/11/2010- 6/12/2010, 6:00p - 10:00a Location: Camp Wendy (Ulster) Description: Do you like horses? If you said yes, then this is the camporee for your! Join us for a fun-filled weekend of learning about horses and how to care for them. Horses will be on site on Saturday! Girls should come prepared with a song about a horse, cowboy or cowgirl. It is going to be so much fun! Don't miss out! Space is limited. This event will be hosted by Girl Scout Cadette Troop 342; they have put a lot of hard work into this event for Girl Scout Juniors. Girls will complete the Horse Fun badge during the course o this fun filled weekend. Friday night bring a Nose bag dinner, all other meals are included. Bring your own sleeping mat. Each troop must be accompanied by an adult with Overnight Outdoor Training and CPR/First Aid certification. Box Oven Cooking at Camp Ludington Girl Scout Juniors & Cadettes

Your troop will make and take home their very own box oven(s). They will make a few basic recipes and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Troop supply list will be emailed prior to the program date. Summer Send-Off Family BBQ and Campfire Sing-a-long Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies & Juniors
Date: 9/24/2010, 6:30p - 8:45p Location: Camp Addisone Boyce (Rockland) Description: Come join us for a Summer Send-Off Family BBQ and Campfire Sing-a-Long. We will start the evening with a dinner of: BBQ chicken, hotdogs, baked beans, macaroni salad, corn, drinks and dessert. When dinner is over we will gather around the campfire and join in on a family sing-a-long. If you are coming as a troop, please register as a troop. If you are inviting any of your troop’s family members, please add the parents to the number of adults on the program registration and siblings to the number of girls. If you do not plan to attend as a troop, individual girls and their families can register on-line or by mailing in a registration form. Please make copies of the program registration form for your families and help them fill the registration out correctly. You will learn how to make responsible decisions and minimize your impact on the environment when camping or hiking. Sing Around the Campfire Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies & Juniors Description: Join us for an evening of songs and stories around a warm campfire while making new friends. Girl Scout Brownies will complete requirements 2 and 3 for their Making Music Try-It. Girl Scout Juniors will learn songs they can teach to younger girls for leadership or service hours. Troops may bring a snack and beverage to enjoy after the singing. Roasting marshmallows will not be allowed. All girls will receive a Campfire patch. Girls are welcome to come dressed as a fashionista in honor of Dez or to wear their Girl Scout uniform to represent the powers and values of Girl Scouting.
