Summer Send-Off Family BBQ and Campfire Sing-a-long Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies & Juniors
Date: 9/24/2010, 6:30p - 8:45p Location: Camp Addisone Boyce (Rockland) Description: Come join us for a Summer Send-Off Family BBQ and Campfire Sing-a-Long. We will start the evening with a dinner of: BBQ chicken, hotdogs, baked beans, macaroni salad, corn, drinks and dessert. When dinner is over we will gather around the campfire and join in on a family sing-a-long. If you are coming as a troop, please register as a troop. If you are inviting any of your troop’s family members, please add the parents to the number of adults on the program registration and siblings to the number of girls. If you do not plan to attend as a troop, individual girls and their families can register on-line or by mailing in a registration form. Please make copies of the program registration form for your families and help them fill the registration out correctly. P.E.A.K. (Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids) Girl Scout Brownies (grade 3) & Juniors
Date: 9/29/2010, 4:00p - 5:30p 10/4/2010, 4:00p - 5:30p Location: Camp Addisone Boyce (Rockland) Description: Come learn to enjoy the out-of-doors responsibly without leaving a trace. The P.E.A.K. program is based on the seven principles of Leave No Trace which aims to teach minimal-impact outdoor skills and ethics. You will develop a sense of stewardship for the natural world and understand how to be safe and prepared for adventure in the out-of-doors. You will learn how to make responsible decisions and minimize your impact on the environment when camping or hiking. Sing Around the Campfire Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies & Juniors
Date: 10/8/2010, 7:30p - 9:30p Location: Camp Ludington (Dutchess) Description: Join us for an evening of songs and stories around a warm campfire while making new friends. Girl Scout Brownies will complete requirements 2 and 3 for their Making Music Try-It. Girl Scout Juniors will learn songs they can teach to younger girls for leadership or service hours. Troops may bring a snack and beverage to enjoy after the singing. Roasting marshmallows will not be allowed. All girls will receive a Campfire patch. Embark on a Brownie Quest Journey Girl Scout Brownies
Date: 10/9/2010, 1:00p - 2:30p Location: Ulster County/TBA (Ulster) Description: Girls will search for clues as they embark on the Brownie Quest Journey. Join us for an exciting adventure and participate in fun activities and games designed to help you find your 1st Key needed to complete the Brownie Quest Journey. Girls are invited to dress like adventurers or to wear their Girl Scout uniforms symbolizing the leadership values they will discover along their Journey. Flower Power - Launch your Journey "Between Heaven and Earth" Girl Scout Daisies
Date: 10/9/2010, 11:00a - 12:30p Location: Ulster County/TBA (Ulster) Description: Grab your imagination and join us as we are introduced to our flower friends Lupe, Clover and Zinni. Witness the start of "A Road Trip to Remember" Our flower friends will help launch us on our Journey that will help us learn to appreciate the beautiful world in which we live. This workshop will complete the requirements for the Blue Bucket Award and help set troops and individual girls on their Journey "Between Heaven and Earth." Girls are invited to come dressed as or wearing their favorite flower and should bring a snack for our picnic pit stop. Brownie Outdoor Day Girl Scout Brownies
Date: 10/11/2010, 7:00a - 3:00p Location: Camp Addisone Boyce (Rockland) Description: Girls will be introduced to basic outdoor skills and earn a Brownie Try-It. Most activities are held outdoors regardless of the weather. Please dress appropriately; sneakers or boots required, no open-toed shoes. Each girl must bring raingear, sit-upon (if you have one), lunch and a small backpack for carrying belongings. The Try-It and a snack will be provided. Volunteer Senior and Ambassador troops are welcome and needed to help run the program. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Gail McBride at gmcbride@girlscoutshh.org.
