Prerequisite: Community Welcome Orientation meeting with a member of the Girl Scout leadership team in your community. Basic Leader is the first required course to help the new volunteer get started and it must be completed prior to the age-level course. This course is designed to present the topics of: Girl Scout philosophy, program goals, diversity and pluralism, and Girl Scouts of the USA’s Safety-Wise guidelines, as well as outlining the national and local council structure. There is no charge for this course.

All volunteers must have their volunteer application, criminal background check, and membership registration confirmed prior to attending this course. Note: If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for a course, or must leave early, credit for that course may not be given
